Jim Bryant was in the fiberglass boat business. He also LOVED 1957 Chevys and drag racing. What started out as a all-metal door slammer evolved into a tweaked and caressed all-out fiberglass quarter-mile terror. With Robbie VanDerGriff jamming the Lenco transmission, the Thundercraft '57 Chevy gave Chevy fans something big to cheer about and definitely added to the new wave of match race madness.

Jim Bryant was go ga-ga over '57 Chevys that the last four digits of his phone number were... you guess it... 1957!
