The racing team of David Reher, Buddy Morrison were one of a handful of Pro Stock teams that consistently were contenders in the ‘80s and into the ‘90s. Chevy Pro Stockers had seen a progression of Camaros, Vegas, and Monzas, depending on how the rules favored certain cars. When Chevrolet came out with the new Beretta, the Reher & Morrison team had the first Pro Stock version to hit the strip.

This technical illustration is an “engineering-style” illustration that uses a technique I call “questimation.” I started with a side-view profile of a real Beretta and a stack of detail photos of the car while under construction. Using reference points and questimates, I was able to construct this illustration. I also took lots of photos of the car at the ‘87 Summernationals. The drawing was then used as a center spread feature in the November ‘87 issue of Super Stock & Drag Illustrated.
