Towards the mid-80s a new breed of drag racing machine started showing up at tracks. Mid-to-late '50 Chevys, Fords, and Mopars were given the Pro Stock edge. The racers didn't go overboard swooping up the bodies, so the cars still looked like what they were supposed to look. The Shoebox racers brought back some of that "match race madness" excitement to the sport.
