Into Funny Cars??? (obviously) Then you'll LOVE this... Visit our Jackson Brothers Nostalgia Drag Racing Videos Page. Tom McEwens 1957 Chevy Funny Car - Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen had a good run in the mid-’80s with his Coors sponsored Corvette Funny Car. But as the recession set in during the late ‘80s, Coors decided to spend its advertising money on something besides drag racing, thus leaving the Mongoose without a sponsor. Ever the showman, McEwen decided to have a ‘57 Chevy styled body made for his funny car chassis and took his new show on the road. Tom McEwen's Hot Wheels Duster Funny Car - Tom McEwen was the other half of the “Snake vs the Mongoose” team. In the animal world, the only predator that the cobra has is a mongoose. According to McEwen, Prudhomme was always faster on the line, that’s why he was call “the Snake.” The “Mongoose” thing was more of a marketing bit to attract match race booking. Dyno Dn Nicholson's ELIMINATOR Cougar Funny Car - After the unfortunate crash of the ‘67 Comet “Eliminator,” “Dyno Don” Nicholson was back in action with a new car using a ‘68 Mercury Cougar fiberglass body. Once again, Nicholson was the man to beat. The biggest difference for the ‘68 car was that Don went from an injected SOHC 427 Ford to a blown and injected 427 SOHC Ford. Thanks to the Pete Robinson blower, Dyno’s Cougar ran consistent 7.3s @ 190 mph! Dyno Don Nicholson's ELIMINATOR Mercury Funny Car - When "Dyno Don" Nicholson showed up with this one-piece, flip-top fiberglass car in 1967, everyone was stunned! Don's factory supported, Mercury bodied, Ford powered funny car trumped everyone. Don Prudhomme's Hot Wheels 'Cuda - Thanks to Don Prudhomme's unique association with Mattel Toys, his "Hot Wheels" funny cars were arguably his most well known and remembered race cars. Ramchargers 1970 Dodge Challenger Funny Car - By 1970, the Ramchargers team was a long-standing, solid Funny Car team. The Challenger and ‘Cuda had all-new body designs for 1970, so most of the Mopar Funny Car teams switched to the ‘Cuda or a Challenger. What was so amazing about the Ramcharger car for 1970 was how close to “stock” the body was. It obviously wasn’t completely stock, but its proportions were very close to stock. Barry Setzer's 1971 Vega Funny Car - In 1971 when Barry Setzer, the double knit fabric king from North Carolina, decided to get into drag racing, it was first class all the way. His race cars were "state of the art," beautiful, and spotless. For a time, Setzer ran a Vega funny car, a Vega pro stocker, and a stunning top fueler. After three weeks in the funny car biz, Kelly Brown drove the Setzer funny car to become the fastest funny car in the land with a 227.27 mph blast! .- KST All of our prints are available in a 16" x 20" poster frame.
