By 1974 many of Detroit’s most notable muscle cars were still around, but most had been defanged and reduced to striping packages. The Mustang, Camaro, and Firebird were still limping along, ESPECIALLY the Pinto-based Mustang II - shame on Ford! Sales of the Barracuda and Challenger dropped like a rock giving Chrysler reason to make the 1974 the last year for Mopar’s muscle car twins.
