It had been a very long dry spell since the good old days of the 1970-1/2 LT-1. But the introduction of the C4 Corvette in 1984 changed everything. In 1982 the Corvette was making small steps towards the next generation Corvette and introduced the Cross Fire Injection engine. This was a real fuel injection system, just an interim step. But the 1985 L98 was a whole other matter. It was part of the reason why Corvettes were suddenly untouchable in the Showroom Stock Series.
And unlike the olden days where the really good stuff for under the hood was an expensive option, the new Bosch Tuned Port Injection setup was STOCK!
