The lightweight Grand Sports were bloody fast, brutal cars. Duntov and several Chevrolet R&D engineers took vacation to the Nassau islands where a road race just happened to be scheduled (funny how that worked out). Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles were on hand to see the arrival of Duntovs Grand Sports and they WERENT HAPPY! It was the first and last hurrah for the Grand Sport. Luckily, the cars were not sent to the crusher, they were sold to privateers and raced for another 3 years or so before they disappeared. Years later, they slowly resurfaced and now all five have been fully restored. In 2003, Recently, all five cars appeared at the Amelia Island Concours delegance show.
