The first major restyling for the Corvette happened in '56. But it was the introduction of the Rochester Fuel Injected 283 engine option that really made the automotive press take notice. The 283 horsepower '57 Corvette has a unique place in automotive history as the first American production car to use fuel injection. The Fuelie option was available until 1965.
