R.I.P. Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins
Drag racing legend, William Tyler Jenkins, aka, Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins died March 29, 2012.
If you had ever spent any time around Bill you know that he didn’t get that “Grumpy” nickname by accident. No doubt there will be many tribute pages on the net and pictures of his amazing race cars. But I thought I’d show you Bill “Happy” Jenkins. Former Atco Raceway owner, Paul Jaffe once told me about Bill, “If you can get him away from the race track and garage, he’s an entirely different person. And he SURE LIKES the pretty girls!” Grump also liked Dewers Scotch and playing the piano – which can conjure up some amusing mental images.
I always loved the image on the left of one of the Hurst girls stooping down to kiss the little fellow. The middle images is from artist John Joduga. John did several original art pieces for Bill’s press kits. And on the right we can see that Bill DEFINITELY had a sweet spot for Miss Jungle Pam. All prints are shrink wrapped on 11.5" x 17.5" cardboard so that they stay flat and clean. USPS Priority Mail shipping for speedy delivery is included in the prices below.
Framed prints come in a 16" x 20" poster frame with a black 16" x 20" mat with a 13-1/2" x 10-1/2" opening. The framed print is then wrapped in bubble wrap and mailed in a flat box via USPS Priority Mail.
